MegaMegaTypeType
An 83-style sans-serif super family from Colophon that spans six distinct widths, each adopting a different genre aesthetic from compressed modular to wide American gothic.
About
Chromatic moves across six width variants – Compressed, Compact, Condensed, Grotesque, Geometric and Gothic – with each width shifting its glyph construction to reflect a distinct typographic genre. A monospaced variant in four weights extends the grotesque DNA into fixed-width territory. Nine stylistic sets and 24 individual character variations allow granular customisation across the family.
Classification
A super family spanning six widths that traverse multiple sans-serif genres – from compressed modular gas-pipe forms through grotesque, geometric and gothic – unified under a single design system. The grotesque width serves as the typographic backbone, with other widths adopting genre-specific construction methods.
