A monospaced serif drawn from the Archive family, whose notched serifs were inspired by the distorted typography of photocopied and offset-printed ephemera.
About
Archive Mono carries the defining quirk of the broader Archive family into a fixed-width format: small indents cut into the top and bottom of each serif, parallel to the baseline and cap height, giving letterforms a worn, pre-existing quality. The design originated in a commission for Photoworks, a Brighton-based photographic publisher, where lo-fi reproduction methods such as photocopying informed the letterform character. Available in a Pro variant with extended language support for Cyrillic and Greek.
Classification
A monospaced variant of the Archive serif family, carrying the same distinctive notched serif details into fixed-width spacing. Sits within the mono category despite its serif construction, as the defining characteristic is the monospaced metric.
