About
Totemic was first published as a basic film type alphabet through a small Californian type house in 1970, influenced by calligraphic type work from Dair, Goudy and Zapf. The Canada Type digital release refines and expands the original, adding OpenType features such as small caps, caps-to-small-caps and automatic fractions. It offers an early glimpse of the design sensibilities Rimmer would develop throughout his later career.
