Stretto
Canada Type · Aldo Novarese · 2007

A revival and expansion of Aldo Novarese's reverse-stress Sintex, redrawn with unicase forms and strong counters for high legibility despite its unconventional stress.
About
Originally released in 2007 and subsequently updated, Stretto is based on Novarese's 1973 VGC typeface Sintex, itself associated with David Bowie's Hunky Dory era. The design blends straight and rounded forms to evoke hand-made sign lettering and wood type, operating within an idiosyncratic grid that gives it a distinctive, counter-stress personality. Unicase construction and prominent counters keep it legible across display applications.
