Stern Pro
Canada Type · Jim Rimmer

Jim Rimmer's final typeface, a delicate upright italic originally produced in both digital and metal simultaneously, expanded by Canada Type in 2013 to over 1200 glyphs.
About
Stern Pro is notable as Jim Rimmer's last completed typeface and as a twenty-first century instance of parallel digital and metal type production, a process documented in Richard Kegler's film 'Making Faces: Metal Type in the 21st Century'. The design is named in memory of artist and printer Chris Stern of Washington State. Canada Type's 2013 expansion added small caps, tall caps, historical forms and seven numeral styles to the original release.
