Spadina specimen from Canada Type

A revival of Karlo Wagner's 1971 Fortunata, redesigned by Kevin King as a wildly mixed display face drawing on art nouveau, blackletter, nineteenth-century ornamental and psychedelic influences.

About

Spadina belongs to Canada Type's collection of hippie and funk display typefaces, and makes no attempt at stylistic restraint. Each letterform pulls from a different decorative tradition, including blackletter, Victorian ornamentals and art nouveau curves, producing an intentionally unpredictable visual rhythm. The result is a display face suited to music, pop culture and any context demanding high visual energy.
