Slinger is rooted in the broad, high-contrast letterforms associated with wooden printing type from the 1700s and 1800s, a tradition closely linked with poster and broadside printing. The foundry frames its design inspiration through a passage of Dime Western prose, anchoring the face in the genre's distinctive American frontier aesthetic. The family includes a Regular and an Extras cut, the latter presumably providing ornamental or supplementary glyphs.
