Risala specimen from Canada Type

An original Arabic typeface by Kourosh Beigpour, designed to pair with a wide range of digital serif faces rather than serve as a companion to any single Latin design.

About

Risala began as a planned Arabic counterpart to Orpheus Pro but developed its own distinct direction during design, resisting a straightforward aesthetic transliteration of the Latin source. The result pairs well with lower-contrast serif genres such as transitionals and slabs. Its name is an Arabic word meaning a written letter or message.

Classification

Original Arabic typeface designed to pair broadly with digital serif faces, particularly transitional and slab styles; grew independently rather than as a direct companion to a specific Latin face.
