Rimmer Pro specimen from Canada Type

A posthumous completion of Jim Rimmer's final typeface, originally titled Dubloon and intended for a private press edition of Treasure Island, issued by Canada Type as a two-weight family with italics.

About

Rimmer left guidelines for a roman with small caps and a basic italic before his death in early 2010, and Canada Type repatriated his work in 2012 to complete the family as four fonts across two weights. The typeface was renamed at Rimmer's own request, marking the only time he titled a face after himself. Its origins in a private press Stevenson project give it a literary and craft-printing heritage.

Classification

Two-weight family with italics and small caps, based on Jim Rimmer's unfinished work; repatriated and completed by Canada Type in 2012; roman, italic, small caps.
