Ratio was designed by Friedrich Kleukens for the Stempel foundry in 1923, positioning the Didone genre within industrial mass publishing as a headline and magazine face. Its design incorporates shaped serifs, soft roundings, an elegantly subdued italic and varied shapes across weights, with the Extra Bold carrying an obvious fat face influence. This digitisation expands on the original metal offering with the addition of small caps and further character support.
