Paganini
Canada Type · Alessandro Butti

A digital expansion of Alessandro Butti's 1928 Nebiolo text face, which blends Italian Renaissance oldstyle roots with modern stroke contrast and distinctive ornamental details.
About
Paganini was designed by Alessandro Butti under the direction of Raffaello Bertieri for Nebiolo in 1928, sitting between oldstyle and modern in its contrast while remaining rooted in Italian Renaissance letterform traditions. Distinctive details such as the splayed M, wide-tailed g and flowing y tail give it strong ornamental character that suits display as well as text use. This digital version expands the original five-font metal range by adding small caps across the three main upright weights.
