scripthandwriting
Mirabel specimen from Canada Type

A two-variant, two-weight script drawn from the broad-pen handwriting of Beverly Bouwsma, developed from the 1930s onwards.

About

Mirabel is digitised directly from Beverly Bouwsma's handwriting, shaped by decades of use with a broad-edged Osmiroid fountain pen. Because she mixed looped and straight ascenders, the family is split into two interchangeable variants – one more formal and balanced, the other retaining greater flamboyance – each available in two weights. Every font includes over 370 glyphs and covers the majority of Latin languages.

Classification

Two-variant, two-weight script family based directly on a named individual's broad-pen handwriting; formal and informal subfamilies differ in ascender treatment.
