Memoriam Pro
Canada Type · Patrick Griffin

A display typeface designed by Patrick Griffin for the 2008 New York Times Magazine year-end commemorative issue, drawing on elements from Canada Type's Jezebel and Treasury.
About
Memoriam Pro was commissioned by New York Times Magazine art director Nancy Harris Rouemy for an all-typography cover dedicated to notable people who died in 2008. Patrick Griffin developed the face by synthesising ideas from the uppercase of Jezebel and the lowercase of Treasury, adapting them to the specific demands of a high-profile commemorative editorial context. The result is a display face shaped by a single, defined publishing purpose.
