Lotto specimen from Canada Type

A revival of Herbert Thannhaeuser's 1955 Typoart brush lettering face, characterised by sudden, idiosyncratic strokes rather than smooth calligraphic flow.

About

Lotto was designed for East German foundry Typoart and until this revival remained largely unknown outside specialist circles. Its brush strokes read as spontaneous and sometimes deliberately odd, with details such as a flat pause at the top of the f and confidently quirky serifs giving it a personality distinct from more fluid brush scripts. The font carries over 400 glyphs with a selection of alternates, ligatures and support for most Latin languages.
