Latex began as a single commissioned font for a major superhero film and expanded the following year to include a shaded variant and a set of DIY fonts designed for dimensional layering. Its design source is Berthold Wolpe's Fanfare from the mid-1930s. Each of the five fonts carries over 600 glyphs, covering the majority of Latin languages as well as Cyrillic and Greek, with stylistic alternates across all three scripts.
