About
Gibson was created by Rod McDonald FGDC to honour John Gibson FGDC (1928–2011), a founding member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. Released in 2011, it was conceived partly as a resource for Canadian design education, and has since been taken up by numerous schools and institutions. Its clean forms have made it one of the most used Canadian typefaces in both national and international contexts.
