Gator draws on the tradition of flared, flourished and rounded lettering that emerged alongside the American pop poster movement of the 1960s and 70s, particularly its European expression. Where American designs trended towards psychedelia, the German variant of this genre maintained its own distinct character. Canada Type's revival captures that European sensibility.
