About

Fantan was released in 1970 by a small Chicago film type house and circulated primarily among independent typesetting shops rather than the major players of the industry. Its art nouveau letterforms came with a full set of swashes and alternates in the original release, a tradition Fantini Pro continues and extends. The source material was among the smaller, less documented film type libraries that largely disappeared when film type declined in the late 1980s.
