Bella Donna
Canada Type · Alessandro Butti

A digital revival of Alessandro Butti's Rondine (Nebiolo, 1948), an upright round script with dramatic capitals, a low x-height and pronounced ascender and descender loops.
About
Bella Donna is the first digital version of Rondine, a metal type by Nebiolo's Alessandro Butti that was widely copied after its release in 1948 but never converted to film or digital formats. The design pairs grand, dramatic majuscules with compact, low-x-height minuscules whose ascenders and descenders loop visibly and gracefully. The foundry notes it can function in both formal and informal settings where an elegant script is called for.
