The first publicly released Canada Type Arabic font, designed in collaboration with Kourosh Beigpour as a companion to the geometric Semplicita Pro family.
About
Anaqa was developed to pair with Semplicita Pro, Canada Type's geometric sans-serif drawn from the inter-war Italian Nebiolo foundry tradition. The brief required finding a geometric approach compatible with Arabic, a script whose inherent calligraphic nature provided a useful starting point even though Arabic sans-serif faces are a relatively recent development. The font was created in partnership with Los Angeles-based designer Kourosh Beigpour.
