About
Albertan began as a hand-set metal face cut in 1982 for Rimmer's own Pie Tree Press, and became the first of his designs to be digitised. Its particular achievement is the integration of transitional traits into a classical roman model without losing the calligraphic underpinning of the letterforms. The almost-slab serifs are a distinctive feature that sets it apart from more conventional text romans.
