Cake Stencil specimen from Cake Type

A stencil typeface in three weights that predates its companion Cake Sans, with an Applied variant introducing a roughened texture across six styles total.

About

Unusually, Cake Stencil was not derived from an existing design by slicing stems and curves; it is the original form from which Cake Sans was developed by filling in the gaps. This reversal of the typical stencil workflow gives the letterforms an organic coherence rarely found in the genre. Six styles span Light, Regular and Bold, each available in a standard and Applied (rough-textured) variant, with support for Latin Extended including Vietnamese and Cyrillic.

Classification

A stencil display typeface that originated as the structural precursor to Cake Sans, with deliberate breaks in letterforms maintained as functional stencil gaps rather than imposed cuts. The Applied variants introduce a rougher, more tactile texture.
