The typeface takes its name from the Spanish word for 'letter' or 'message', a nod to its source material: Kurvers' elegant letterforms applied to Amsterdam's public mailboxes nearly a century ago. Espinoza studied Kurvers' printed output in depth before producing an adaptation that preserves the original's geometric precision and subtle Art Deco inflection. It suits posters, signage, branding and any work connected to the Amsterdamse School aesthetic.
