Designed by Ramiro Espinoza, Karmix traces its origins to the inscribed alphabet on the Bordewijk family tomb at Oud Eik en Duinen cemetery. The modular construction and stencil interruptions lend the face a sculptural tension, making it well suited to poster work, branding and cultural print projects. It represents a revival of a highly specific and previously unrecorded lettering source rather than a generalised historical genre.
