Rooted in sketches and prototypes Quay made in 2007, Botter was formalised by Espinoza in 2026 into a 14-style family with refined proportions and consistent spacing. The letterforms carry visual affinities to monospaced typewriter fonts and European licence-plate lettering, giving the design a restrained, utilitarian character. Named after a traditional Dutch fishing vessel, it suits applications in architecture, technology and electronic music where a structured, contemporary voice is needed.
