Banket specimen from Brutal Types

A single-style Art Deco display face revived from a 1936 Dutch confectionery advertisement, drawn by Ramiro Espinoza and released in 2025.

About

The source material is a Gerard Hurkman advertisement for G. Daneels, a Dutch confectionery firm, whose lettering exemplifies the geometric refinement and elegant spacing of 1930s commercial typography. Espinoza's revival preserves those qualities while adapting the design into a complete digital typeface suited to brochures, posters, packaging and editorial contexts. Coverage is limited to Western Latin in a single style.

Classification

A display typeface in the Art Deco tradition, characterised by geometric forms, clean lines and refined spacing drawn from 1930s Dutch lettering. Its single-style offering and decorative character place it firmly in the display category.
