A revival of Joseph Churchward's late-1960s square sans-serif, spanning five weights from an extremely condensed Regular to an outlandishly heavy Ultra Black, each with a steeply angled italic.
About
Originally drawn in the late 1960s, Churchward 69 is defined by its squared letterforms, extreme condensed proportions and a weight range that escalates to the near-grotesque Ultra Black. Italics are set at an unusually steep 17-degree angle, reinforcing the family's audacious character. OpenType features include superior and inferior figures, fractions, and tabular and proportional figure sets, with support for an extended European character set.
Classification
A square sans-serif with extreme condensed proportions and heavy weights, designed for impact at display sizes. The geometric squared letterforms and exaggerated weight range place it firmly in the display category.
