Designed by Guido Schneider and released in 2022 with a 2024 update, Garant pairs a geometric skeleton with tapered spurs, diagonally cut stroke terminals and large x-height to produce a lively yet disciplined result. Humanist alternates for key characters such as a, g and Q are grouped in an OpenType style set labelled 'Text', adapting the family for editorial use alongside its primary role in branding and packaging. Each font carries 1,780 glyphs, 23 OpenType features and support for over 400 Latin languages as well as Cyrillic and Greek.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif with humanist inflections: open counters, tapered spurs and diagonally cut ascenders and descenders soften the strict geometric framework. Humanist alternates for a, g, k, u, y, G and Q are available via OpenType style sets.
