Dönmeh
Atypical · George Triantafyllakos

A free caps-only display face with reversed stress, inspired by mid-century Greek sign painters and named for Thessaloniki's Dönmeh community.
About
Dönmeh is inspired by Greek advertisements from the 1950s and 60s using reversed stress, an unorthodox but popular approach among Greek sign painters, with heavy horizontal strokes nodding to Arabic and Hebrew letterforms. Named after a historical group of crypto-Jews in the Ottoman Empire, it is offered free with a request to donate to those in need.
