About
Originally drawn as a single-weight bespoke font for a modern art gallery in the Netherlands, APK Galeria was reworked in 2022 and expanded into a complete family in 2023 with Swiss font developer Maël Bächtold. Its character comes from hard-edged cuts applied to an otherwise conventional grotesque structure, with four stylistic sets of alternates offering flexibility across display and text settings. A 2026 collaboration with Arthur Schwarz produced a revised variable font version bundled with all full-family purchases.
Classification
A contemporary grotesque with hard-edged cuts and alternates derived from the grotesque tradition. Its upright, functional structure with stylistic incisions places it firmly within the modern grotesque category.
