An early-grotesque workhorse that branches out into pixel, mono and extreme-width cuts.

About

188 Sans starts from a Regular in the spirit of Monotype Grotesque, then skips the obvious relatives for its strangest ones: a Black Extended, a Thin Condensed and two pixel cuts made by running the Regular through coarser and coarser grids. A mono and obliques arrived in v0.4, with a fuller weight range promised.

Classification

Sold as an in-progress release on Future Fonts (v0.4). The Regular is loosely based on Monotype Grotesque; the family jumps to Black Extended, Thin Condensed and two pixel cuts, with a mono and obliques added in v0.4.
