A humanist sans-serif with calligraphic underpinnings, designed by Jan Fromm and Krista Radoeva for multilingual use across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts in eight weights with matching italics.
About
Zarid Sans balances clean outlines with subtle unconventional details drawn from calligraphic tradition, producing letterforms that feel open and approachable without sacrificing typographic precision. Moderate x-height paired with relatively long ascenders and descenders supports both readability in extended text and rhythm at display sizes. Developed in collaboration with 29 Letters Type Foundry, the family is also available with Arabic, Devanagari and Hanzi support through 29LT.
Classification
Zarid Sans is a humanist sans-serif with explicit calligraphic roots, distinguishing it from geometric or neo-grotesque models. Its moderate x-height, long ascenders and descenders, and open letterforms align it firmly with the humanist tradition.
