Grundtvig Typeface
6TM Magazine · Reinaldo Camejo · 2023

A single-weight monospaced display face drawn from the angular geometry of Grundtvig Kirke in Copenhagen, designed as a student project at ELISAVA in 2023.
About
Grundtvig takes its letterforms from the stepped gabled facade and pointed arches of Copenhagen's Grundtvig Kirke. Designed by Reinaldo Camejo during a master's in Visual Design at ELISAVA, it is a monospaced display face built for headlines and prominent typographic use. The forms are bold and architectural, with a pixel-adjacent rigidity that recalls bitmap type as much as gothic revival – and has collected awards from ADC Young Ones, ADG Laus and LAD.
Classification
Single-weight monospaced display typeface. Bold, angular letterforms with strong verticality derived from the stepped gabled facade and pointed arches of Grundtvig Kirke, Copenhagen. Pixel-adjacent rigidity sits between gothic revival and bitmap aesthetics. Not a text face — built purely for headlines and prominent typographic use.
