ARP3 Typeface
6TM Magazine · Ciarán Brandin · 2019

A futuristic display face by Ciarán Brandin that pairs sharp terminals with softened stroke junctions, inspired by Floating Points' album Shadows.
About
ARP3 merges hard-edged letterforms with rounded transitions at the joints, producing a mechanical-yet-warm character well suited to headline and display work. Designed in 2019 and rooted in the sonic world of Floating Points, the family spans three weights – Thin, Regular and Heavy – each with a companion italic, plus a variable font. With 98 glyphs covering basic Latin, numbers and punctuation, the scope is deliberately narrow.
Classification
Geometric display face with sharp terminals contrasted by softened curves at stroke junctions. Clear futuristic/sci-fi aesthetic. Variable font included. 98-glyph character set limits it to strictly display use.
