Milling translates CNC tool-path logic into typography, building letterform weight through repeated machining passes rather than conventional stroke contrast, and shipping in four formats for use across engraving, cutting and print alike.

About

Born from Tanguy Vanlaeys's seven-year research at ANRT Nancy, Milling treats each letter as a sequence of tool paths rather than an outlined shape – Simplex, Duplex and Triplex variants add passes to build weight and contrast. It ships in single-line, CAD, OpenType and toolpath-contour formats, making it usable for laser cutting and CNC engraving as well as conventional typesetting. Variable fonts for Simplex and Triplex give continuous control over stroke width, with 14 stylistic sets for alternate letter and punctuation forms.

Classification

Single-line typeface engineered from CNC tool-path logic. Three construction modes – Simplex, Duplex, Triplex – build letterform weight by adding machining passes rather than varying stroke contrast in the conventional sense. Monolinear at its core; Triplex introduces contrast through layered passes. Geometric in structure throughout.
